hi,

first time poster,

i installed a fresh copy of xp now i cannot access my eisa partion (recovery), i now need to recover and i cannot as f10 doesn't prompt the recovery screen as is supposed to do according to the manual. Any ideas how i can get it back?

Because you have performed your own clean install of Windows XP, you have most likely wiped out the recovery partition and therefore the computer's built-in recovery procedure will not work.

 

Unless you have the original recovery discs supplied with your computer (if any), you will have to perform another clean install of Windows XP with a CD to get your computer working again.

i agree with jamey.

the only other option would be a new hard drive and data recovery.but this may or may not work....you could send the hard drive away for recovery,but it will be expensive.

are you under warranty...they will do this for you.(not recover just re-install).

search google there are some free recovery tools but most good one's are expensive.....try ontrack.they cost a bit but they also have software that is very good....thats if you want to go down that route...

if you have another computer you can try data recovery by pluggin the other drive into it,and scanning away
