Guest Drew Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I downloaded PowerPoint Viewer 2003 from Microsoft. I associated it with ..ppt files. It will not open a .ppt file attached to an email. It says there is no program associated with the file. If I move the file from the email to a folder, the ppt viewer opens it fine. How can I get the ppt viewer to open a file attached to an email? Thanks Drew
Guest Newbie Coder Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Re: File association for Powerpoint Viewer Drew, had the same thing after a time with the viewer when clicking Outlook attachments with most of the 11, 000 machines I look after, but not immediately. All I do is re-install the viewer & it seems to be fine Please remember that when you click on an attachment it creates a temp copy which it tries to open. You should always save to disk first if you trust the source as PPT files can contain viruses -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "Drew" <drew@home.net> wrote in message news:ORSq1na7HHA.3528@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > I downloaded PowerPoint Viewer 2003 from Microsoft.
