How do I install the previous version of WMP, or another media program? I don't need a music retail store, and v. 9 has been uninstalled via Add/Remove Programs 5 times, and its not on that list, now, but Search located it, again. This is malware!

Please help me with this.

Xp orginally (???) came with WMP 9. Then, Windows XP SP2 came with

WMP 10 (???) and finally MS release WMP 11. Not sure if you can

revert back to WMP 9 if you remove either 11/10.

As for considering it malware, this is MS doing. They consider WMP 11

to be an "important" update that they always include it in Windows

Update, if it is not detected on your version.

As for installing a different media player, just locate the one you

are confgortable with and install it. Then, you should be able to set

its "options" to control your media files within it.
