Guest Wolfeymole Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Hello Mike Welcome to FPCH What make and model is your pc, do you know if you have a recovery partition and finally do you have an XP disk (that is if you got one when you got the machine)? Quote
AdvancedSetup Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 By either doing a FACTORY RESTORE or by having a legitimate Windows XP or Vista CD/DVD and the License Key to install it. Depending on what you have for OS and Hardware as Wolfey basically says. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Dalo Harkin Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 so basically you can insert your XP CD and run through the steps of deleting all the info on the drive and then reinstalling windows fresh - depending on your computer and where you got it - you will have a recovery CD maybe 2 or an XP disk in a case with a serial number on it. opensource_archive Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 (edited) I would back up your files first. And depending on your manufacture and if you created your master CD's/DVD's then I would format your HDD before restore. Also take Hardware setting back to original settings when it left the factory. Like on my machone If i use a different Drive to the original phillips it will produce a DOS error code as the hardware part number doesnt match the number on the CD.
