Why wont my old drives from a windows 10 system not work via sata when I put them in to my new windows 11 system?

I have a new PC with windows 11 installed. But I have old drives from my old windows 10 PC that I forgot to attach to the motherboard when upgrading from windows 10 to 11 on that new system. If I plugin the drives I keep getting blue screened and now I can't access those any more. How should I fix this?
