Why does keyboard type: 01/03 returns as March 1st instead of January 3rd in Excel?

Keyboard type 01/03 returns as March 1st instead of January 3rd in Excel. This absolutely ludicrous. It never happened before but with a new laptop.- I live in Germany but all preferred/set languages are to English US, including the one from keyboard.- Excel, Options, Language set to English US (proofing as well)- in Windows Setting displayed language is English US- Keyboard option is English USI was going coo-coo. However, I found the answer!!!! I left the question here so others can learn from this as this can be quite frustrating.I mentioned I am in Germany so country or region is Germany a
