Guest mc Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Lately when I open windows explorer it would launch but stays blank for a long time before showing the directory tree. Similarly, whenever I am working with an application (Excel, Word, etc.) and attempt to save a file by clicking "save as", the little window opens with the defaul folder, but then when I click the down arrow to navigate to another folder, it takes an inordinate amount of time for it to open the drop down selection. Is there some setting with windows explorer that can be changed to mitigate?
Guest N1K Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 RE: Windows Explorer delay You might have a CD or DVD ROM in the drive and windows explorer window hangs until DVD-ROM is spinned and refreshed. -- MCSA, MCDST, MCP Systems Specialist http://www.wincert.net "mc" wrote: > Lately when I open windows explorer it would launch but stays blank for a > long time before showing the directory tree.
