Guest dtnguyen Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Hi All, I accidentally deleted several local groups on the Windows 2000 server. Now all the Shares and NTFS permission are all messed up. After I recreated all the local groups the Shares and NTFS permission only showing SID with a question mark. Is there a way to restore the Local Groups on a Windows 2000 server? It's a IIS server. Now users are having problem with access permission. I would really appreciated for any help from the expert out there. Thanks in advance for all the help. -- dtNguyen

Guest dtnguyen Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Re: Restore Local Groups Thanks for your speedy responded, Robert. I will check out the link you've posted. Since I've gotten your attention, I have another question hope you will have the answer. Is there a way that you can tell what group is it by its SID? For example: S-1-5-21-746137067-xxxxxxxxxx. Can you tell what group is associate with that SID? Again, really appreciated for your help. -- dtNguyen "Robert L [MVP - Networking]" wrote: > You may be able to restore it if you have System State backup.
