have i set up cpu, bios wrong

hi all i have just i replaced a e6600 with a new q6600 as soon as i booted i was getting cpu error so i was told to up date bios i have never messed with the bios b4 so i went to asus website got a bios update tool run that it got the update needed and took away the error but my pc is running really bad software not responding, games cutting off, taking ages to copy or open softwere i have had the blue shut off screen few times but all i get is go hear C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini090208-01.dmp

C:\Users\PUREPLAYZ\AppData\Local\Temp\WERE30D.tmp.version.txt

 

for info on what is problem but i cant even get into the mini dump access denied or find out what is causing it i am just learning about pc & i am at a total loss any help i would be v v great full for my specs are

cpu q6600

ram 2x1g 6400 800mhz cpuz says its 400mhz latency is ment to be 44412 but cpuz says its 55518

hyper type r730w psu

asus p5bwifi deluxe mb

asus 8800gtx g card

Hitachi250 sata hdd

Right so you have updated the BIOS to the latest version?

have you installed the Intel chipset driver for the Q6600?

i went to the asus website and got chip set but could that be for the board just looked at it it sayes intel chipset device softwere installer i dont no if thats the correct one you mean, to day i tried to reinstall everything still the same i cant even install my belkin wifi its saying the santax of the inf is invalid, on my rar for the chipset it says inf? thank you for your help really need it

my intel driver was found by windows update - nothing in your additional hardware downloads?

is this a intel chipset what does it do does it reset bios (just nerves) it just its bootable and i havent got a clue what i am doing

i got the cpu softwere i dont have a floppy do i burn it to cd then boot from cd?

wo wo - I have no idea what you have downloaded it should just be an exe file - you should have the chipset driver on your MOBO disk - or have a look for the latest one on your MOBO manufacturer site
