Folder View error

I have noticed recently that although I have my folder organization set to

Name (alphabetical), when I open the "Open" dialog box in programs and set

them to view my folder, they are set in "Modified" (by date) view.

 

The folder is a non-C: drive holding data. My current view is List, and the

explorer window itself displays the files in Name order. I recently deleted

some hidden files I thought associated with a folder "tweaking" program

(change color, background, etc.) do to an unsatisfactory result and noticable

folder lag, and now I have encountered this problem.

 

Prior to deleting the files, I did have the folder set to "Modified" by

earliest to latest date, and that is what my programs are showing.

 

Is there a way to recreate the necessary files, or restructure the folder to

re-establish to correct view settings?

 

Any help will be appreciated.

 

 

P.S. I still have the folder lag :(
