Netlogon appears when users login

I did a migration last night that involved editting our gp and adding a login

and logoff script. Since doing so, when a user logins in the netlogon share

is displayed on the workstation. What could be causing this?

If you remove the script from the user and logon that does not happen then?

If so, can you post the logon script here?

If you remove the logon script it still happens. The script file is two net

use commands to map two drive letters, by far nothing fancy.

 

To me it seems that something extraneous is in the gp. Any other thoughts?

When you say login/off, you mean in the GPO?

Also, when you say the netlogon share is displayed, you mean an explorer

window is opened, correct?

Does that happen to all users? In any workstation?

Login and logoff scripts are assigned in the user portion of the gpo.

 

Yes, an explorer windows is diplaying the contents of the netlogon share.

 

What I've found that any domain admin account does not have this happen but

any regular user is.

How about the users' properties, startup scripts in the local machine, run

registry key?

Got it! The script that was used to remove the login script path in the

user's account insterted a space. Remove the space so the field is actually

empty and the problem goes away.
