Guest rkraneis@techspectrum.com Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 A highly skilled user from my user community has reported that the download panel no longer appears when downloading or trying to download a file from the Internet. I've searched Google, Yahoo, MSN and can't find any method for reactivating the download panel. I don't know whether it's an Internet Explorer, Windows Registry, or some other feature or control. Does anyone have an answer or advice? Thanks. Richard from Chicago, IL USA

Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version. Check the box for "Confirm open after download". -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM Do not send mail.
Guest rkraneis@techspectrum.com Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Re: Download Panel has Disappeared Frank, thanks for your response. But my concern is not with a panel displaying at the end of a download process. My concern is that when the user tries to begin the download, he's not given a choice of downloading the file or opening the file immediately. That panel no longer displays. How can I re-set that panel to its normal behavior? Thanks for your interest in the problem Frank. Richard from Chicago
