Guest Bill Nguyen Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I have a 16GB AM Dell Poweredge server. Can I install standard 2003 instead of enterprise version and still able to utilize all 16GB RAM? Thanks a million Bill

Guest John John Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Re: Standard 2003 4GB RAM barrier No, Server 2003 only supports 4GB RAM, you need Enterprise or better to use more than 4GB. Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Re: Standard 2003 4GB RAM barrier Hello, What are you going to run onto ? 32 bits application can run on 64 bits through the WOW64, normally without notice. Which application do you expect to use the 16G of ram ? SQL ? Check if your application exist in 64 bits version, which would be the best. I think 32 bits & 64 bits version are the same price, but you would have to check. This protects the data on the SQL Server, protects the LAN, protects your users, etc...
