My HP desk top PC will not start up even in safe mode, I have and error message of unmountable_boot_volume. I 'm currently running Windows XP Professionals Edition.

How long have you had the PC - sounds like the HDD is toast :eek:

I've yet to see an "unmountable boot volume" that didn't mean the hard drive was failing, or about to.
