Guest Michele Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I see that you may be able to change the default "File / Save As" folder in unique manners in each application, but is there a way to do it globally? Ex: In Outlook, I get an attachment and I want to save it. If I am not careful, the file gets saved to some random temp directory (folder). Then later, it's a pain to locate that file. I would prefer to make the temp directory = "Project1" or whatever I choose - for easy retrieval. Not just for Outlook, but for MS Office applications too. Appreciate any help out there. -- Thanks!

Guest Bob I Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Re: Change default "File / Save As" folder globally in Windows XP? If it is a "random temp directory", it is BECAUSE you are OPENING the attachment first. Don't open it. Just R-click and pick "Save As" the starting point should be My Documents Michele wrote: > Anybody out there know how to do this with OUTLOOK?
