Guest CinnamonQ Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I have a friend who runs a program called JAWS that reads the words from his active window to him. He is having a hard time dealing with windows explorer. He does not use the mouse at all and relies entirely on memorized commands. Are there more text based options with Windows XP, especially in terms of Windows Explorer?
Guest Bink Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Re: Visually impaired user needs more text based file browser Cinnamon... I recall the software that someone used.. it enabled you to control all of windows with voice commands... everything is controllable with the software.. I did a little search and found it.. it was called windows-eyes.. see here for info http://www.nanopac.com/WindowEyes.htm I think she said it was the best one! Hope this helps.. tells me if it does... Guest Bink Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Re: Visually impaired user needs more text based file browser sorry .. I meant to say that everything was read from the screen in a voice so that the user could "hear" the commands instead of reading them... sorry Im overloading with information .. lol "Bink" <blinkbink@gmail.com> wrote in message news:46e1c8d8@newsgate.x-privat.org... > Cinnamon... > > I recall the software that someone used.. it enabled you to control all of > windows with voice commands... everything is controllable with the > software.. > > I did a little search and found it.. it was called windows-eyes.. see here > for info > http://www.nanopac.com/WindowEyes.htm > > I think she said it was the best one! > > Hope this helps.. tells me if it does... > > > > "CinnamonQ" <CinnamonQ@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:00272D7E-A0DF-4275-B507-2AB9EDF46861@microsoft.com... >>I have a friend who runs a program called JAWS that reads the words from >>his >> active window to him.
