Guest Darrel Decal Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I been reading alot of stuff on the google search engines about the CPU's of Windows user getting hogged to the 95 - 100 percent. I been noticing my CPU goes to that 100 percent alot whether I use Explorer or Firefox surfing websites with flash objects, and even worse if its java game applet sites such as Pogo.com or Yahoo Games. I tried many things mentioned by people such as goign back to the regular Windows Update instead of Microsoft update. Can't seem to nip it in the bud why that CPU goes wild.. I have done complete scans with windows defender, Norton Antivirus 2007, adware, ect only to not find any trojans or adware. And i do just brief surfing its okay, but when I got to those applet game sites such as pogo.com or yahoo Games. Most games will function but some will freeze cause of that cpu going wild under the iexplore.exe or firefox.exe which ever I use in conjuction with the Sun Java 2 platform. I am almost out of ideas on what causes this cpu to spike. I am on explorer right now with a pop up to type this and the cpu is just fine.. but if i go to any flash, java applet game sites it goes wild and spikes to that 95 -100 percent. Any ideas what I need to tweak to avoid getting those spikes. I saved the file of the process I was running as I doing this and my system is okay. Guest xxx Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Re: Windows XP and iexplore.exe or firefox.exe cpu always 95 - 100 per The issue is the 'secure.exe' module (in program file\security\) that keep continueing to run iexplore. It is a hidden module. If your system is secured by other stuff then deactivated this module. It could be a trojan that has infected your system. You will see the result immediately: your CPU goes down to 4% and your computer works 10 times faster. Bye
