Guest Terry Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Using Add or Remove programs my computer gives me a date of a program last used and it may say 5/06 when I know I used it yesterday. How can that program be updated to tell the truth?? Another problem is Windows update tells me my computer needs to be updated and when I click to update it then tells me that one update can not be completed. What can I do to install the update that's not loading?
Guest Curt Christianson Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Re: using Add or Remove programs Hi Terry, As to your first question regarding Add/Remove programs--that's a bug that's been in there for some time, and it's trivial enough where I would be pleasantly surprised if MS fixed it. Heck, some apps. I use on a daily basis, and A/R says I use it "rarely"?? Huh? As to your second question, visit the folks at the Windows Update NG. They are real experts at this stuff, and it's all they do. http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsupdate&cat=en_us_d99bb655-a5d5-4c07-bdb0-90caf9f30c42&lang=en&cr=us -- HTH, Curt Windows Support Center http://www.aumha.org Practically Nerded,... http://dundats.mvps.org/Index.htm "Terry" <tlfogel@aol.com> wrote in message news:F9746E46-3AE3-4262-A551-23BF797B82D7@microsoft.com... | Using Add or Remove programs my computer gives me a date of a program last | used and it may say 5/06 when I know I used it yesterday. How can that >program be updated to tell the truth?? If I remember rightly, it only takes notice if you start the program from the Start Menu. If you normally start it from a shortcut, or by double-clicking on a file, Add/Remove will pretend it didn't happen :-) -- Nightowl
