I suspect your question is really "How do I restore an automatic

logon process?". If so then the answer is:

- Click Start / run / control userpasswords2{OK}

- Click your usual logon account.

- Untick the box that requires users to enter a password.

- Click OK and enter your password when prompted.

Yes, the installation of the .net framework.

To logon automatically, go to Start | Run, type "control

userpasswords2" Select the account you want to logon to automatically.

Then uncheck the box "Users must enter a user name and password to use

this computer."

Or do the same thing with TweakUI.

RE: logon screen

In XP Home, if you mean the Welcome Screen, and if the procedure referred to

by the MVP's NOW gives you the Logon Screen instead:

Logon | go to Control Panel | User Accounts | Change the way Users log on

and off | Put a check in Use the Welcome Screen, and another in Fast User

Switching.

Sounds wrong, but after reboot, you will go straight to the desktop.
