Guest John Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 1. If your name is Curt Christianson or 98 Guy, don't bother me. You were annoying enough when I posted 6 ways to speed up Windows. 2. Here is the main problem, and I want to put this short and simple. Your posts are automatically sent to different websites. WTF??? Proof: First, take a look at my other post: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx?&query=system+acting+very+strange&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion&p=1&tid=fa0dfc70-f25e-4665-a5c9-319eef1a5b5e Now, take a look at this version: http://help.lockergnome.com/windows2/System-acting-strange-ftopict488344.html Shocking isn't it? 3. The entire website is a target for spam. You might have edited your e-mail address, but remember, a human can understand what that means. It means 'DO NOT SPAM'. Do they obey that? Of course not. I think you should know though. 4. The website is bugged. Now I have seen this error many times (SO FOR ONCE DON'T SAY I AM WRONG), where replies to topics get sent as topics themselves. And, for you that might not be a threat to your security. Unless you have an e-mail address in your signature. I am NOT going to go through more errors, because I know one of you will say I am such a loser and should be kicked off this forum site. Well too late, I am already going. So when you (or even one of you people at M$) want to see more information about this, good luck! I am not coming back! -- A story of this forum always has an argument.

Guest Curt Christianson Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Re: F.Y.I - Your posts are insecure. And this is not spam! Hi John, I didn't mean to offend *you* John, in your first post earlier. It's just "we" regulars here *do* have an aversion to registry cleaners in general--not just the one you mentioned: but ALL of them. Your other 5 points were generally pretty right on, and are (or should be) SOP for anybody keeping their machine "lean and mean". As to your last comment about our posts showing up in other locations or forums--if you do some digging you will find those posts in a lot more places too. Don't forget, just about anything that anybody says in the MS newsgroups are archived on Google--probably for "eternity" <s>. As to the e-mail advice, you are right. I *do* leave myself open for spam from someone lurking in this group, but it's munged enough so the "bots" are confused. In 7 years in the MS NG's, I've only received 3 e-mails from individuals who took the time to "un-munge" my e-mail address--all three e-mails were personal thank-yous for some help I provided. Once again, there was no offense intended in your first post--a great deal of us just don't like reg. cleaners in general. BTW, I *did* download the cleaner you referred to, and am going to test it out. I *can* tell you that because it is a Registry "cleaner", it is inherently dangerous. The link I provided may be of interest to you. -- HTH, Curt Windows Support Center http://www.aumha.org Practically Nerded,... http://dundats.mvps.org/Index.htm "John" <chicken989-chickens@yahoo.com.au.myyahoodisposableaddress> wrote in message news:694911C8-9E8D-40D7-BCC3-916E86671AFA@microsoft.com... | 1. What you don't seem to understand is that you're using a web interface to Usenet, not really a web forum. Usenet is propagated around the world, to many servers, and thanks to the wonders of technology, web forums now pull directly from Usenet. Anyone that posts with a real name or email address has always been exposed to spam and other unethical things. -- Leythos - Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum. - Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" spam999free@rrohio.com (remove 999 for proper email address)
