Why can I not play a .avi file with Windows 11 Media Player Legacy?

I am attempting to use the .avi format to export and upload gaming videos to YouTube so that I can reduce motion blur after exporting in the MP4 format. When I try to view the exported video for quality using Windows 11 Media Player Legacy before uploading it to the platform, I get the error message: Your computer is running low on memory. Quit other programs, and then try again. During the few seconds of playback that I get to see, the CPU usage is 2%, GPU 54%, and RAM 15%. I don't have the best or worst system...CPU is R7 5700 (the 5700g without integrated graphics): GPU is Geforce RTX 30
