Guest DNB Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 There are about 8 or nine folders sitting in my task bar (not the system tray), and I can't get rid of them. The right click menu has no close option, and opening and then attempting to close them my clicking on the X simply mimimizes the folders again. Rebooting is no help either. Very frustrating! Thanks for any help.
Guest Ron Badour Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Re: Task Bar icons won't close Try Alt + F4 keys. When you say rebooting doesn't help, do you mean that the same icons somehow remain open on the taskbar? Do you regularly scan with up to date anti virus and malware programs? -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP 1997 - 2007 "DNB" <dennisb1953-google@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:1189293025.014502.85220@k79g2000hse.googlegroups.com... > There are about 8 or nine folders sitting in my task bar (not the > system tray), and I can't get rid of them. Guest DNB Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Re: Task Bar icons won't close I figured out a bit more. The folders (and files) are actually subfolders of the My Documents folder. Somehow the My Documents folder has made its way on to my taskbar, where it appears greyed out. Where does it belong, as I think what I need to do is drag it back where it belongs. You could drag it to the Desktop. Or just right-click the Taskbar, click Toolbars, and deselect the one for the "My Documents" Toolbar. -- Joe =o)
