Dalo Harkin Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Can you be more descriptive - is it on standby? Goku Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 That is not a very efficient solution, Suzy. I still think it is a hardware conflict and Dalo might guide you most expertly here. However, if you still want to leave it that way, then suit yourself. Now, considering the problem you mention, can you please elaborate a bit more? Do you mean that the screen shuts itself off automatically when you are using the computer? It might just be the Power Options in Windows. Follow the instructions provided here and change the setting appropriately. Do you still experience the problem? If yes, then report back with more details. Hope that helps. Good Luck. :) -- Goku Quote
suzywong43 Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 i start the pc up from standby then as the icons come up the screen just goes black, i thought it might be a loose connection so fiddled about with wires. i took out the lead from the screen and when put back in the screen will come back on for a couple of secs then go black, the same happens if i take out the lead from the base and put it back in, very frustratin. it did it again this mornin so had to switch pc off and was ok when i switched it back on again, but it will happen again, i know it Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 do you have all the power saving features turned off? right click on the desktop and then select properties and then on the screen saver tab - bottom right it says power settings - make sure they are all set to NEVER. reboot and see how you go - failing that the monitor lead or the monitor itself sounds faulty Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
