Guest Jeff Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Hey I have 2 computers in my home network pc1: winXP pro with sp2 pc2: win2k3 They can ping each other using IP address. If I turn off the firewalls on both machine then I can ping each other using their netbios names. But having turned off firewall is bad for security... so here is my problem, what ICMP exception do I need to allow on the firewalls for this to work (ping each other pc using their netbios names) ?? jeff
