Guest philip Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Xp prof always goes to the safe mode. Chkdsk /r does not help. When I did a "fixboot', it still goes to 'safe mode" and whenI hit enter, ta least it load the drivers and I was able to see the word "dafe mode' at the 4 corners for a split second. Then the pc reboot and into the safe mode cycle again. So I decided to slave it in another pc and scan it with AVG, Adware SE and Spybot, all the nasty are deleted. I put back the hard disk as its own Primary Master, the situation remains the sam. ' the safe mode" appears for a split sedong. Can somone advice what is wrong with the OS. Thanks
Guest AJR Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Re: What is wrong with the boot? Philip - your post is slightly confusing (to me anyway) - does the computer boot "completly" in safe mode? Or is it continually rebooting? If it does boot to XP - open msconfig (Start>Run>msconfig) select the boot.ini tab and verify that theSafe Mode is not selected under Boot Options. Guest philip Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Re: What is wrong with the boot? How shall I put it, when I choose safe mode> start loading the drivers and when finished you expect to go to desktop and at the same time see the 'safe mode' wordings at the corners of the screen. This is what I can see, the see these wording 'safe mode' for a split second and pc start to reboot. I can even get the chance to see the desktop icons....Thanks "AJR" wrote: > Philip - your post is slightly confusing (to me anyway) - does the computer > boot "completly" in safe mode?
