Lenovo yoga 11e laptop touchpad freezing

hellomy laptop's touchpad is randomly freezing of periods of up to a few hours. occasionally, for brief periods im able to move it, before it freezes again. im able to use an old usb mouse to navigate however the touchpad is more convenient at times for me to use. i have already updated all drivers, updated windows, used sfc/scannow, disabled and reenabled drivers, checked device manager for issues (none are recorded) and i am completely lost
