Guest John P. Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Hi, I think there was a memory leak issue within IE7 on a WinXP SP2 system and browsed several forums on the net and came upon one idea to install the "Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP and Windows 2000", namely the "WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe" file - After I installed/restarted I can't browse some sites, windows update doesn't work, system restore opens to a blank/empty page (from safe mode as well)... I've installed Windows Script 5.7 for WinXP then uninstalled it, then reinstalled IE7 for SP2 and still have the same issue. Appreciate any help on how to resolve this issue or how to restore it without having to reinstall everything from scratch. Thanks, John P.

Click Start, Run, type SFC /SCANNOW, click OK. If any files are damaged or missing, they'll be replaced. You may need to reboot afterwards so damaged files will be replaced. System Restore fails to restore: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/srfail.html -- Joe =o)
