"Remove disks or other media" appears after I added an older HDD to my PC

I've been using a 1gb SSD on my PC for a couple of years and found an old 512gb HDD lying around. I connected the HDD with a SATA cable and Windows recognized it in Disk Management, but not in Windows Explorer, and I was also unable to partition/format or even access the HDD.I tried to reboot into BIOS, but it didn't go through after 10 tries and various button combinations. I was going to force a reboot into BIOS (holding shift while restarting the PC) but now, Windows doesn't load at all. I just get the message "Remove disks or other media. Click a button to restart".I shut off the PC and u
