How can admin prevent locally stored One Drives clogging up the storage on shared computers?

At college we use shared computers for CAD and our files are kept in our college One Drive. However because OneDrive needs to be effectively downloaded on a new machine to be available when using these large files, it means that the local C drive on the shared computer gets filled up very easily. I would have expected that if a user logs off their saved One Drive files should leave the locally stored One Drive and sync back up to their cloud based One drive. It doesn't matter so much when using your own device but on a shared PCs it is. In this case IT have to come and manually empty the local
