Guest Andrew Story Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Hi NG, I have recently changed the way my Org uses home directories. They used to manually create a share and map a drive to it, then redirect my docs to the mapped drive. It's now setup to use folder redirection via a GPO and redirectsm y docs to a server share. Problem = some users document paths are more than 255 characters and word/excel etc will not open these files, is there a way to inncrease the maximum file path size ??
Guest M Skabialka Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Re: Increase maximum file path length Can't these users map another drive letter to a point partially down the path? They would have to give that folder a share name, but the drive map should be shorter. Guest Andrew Story Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Re: Increase maximum file path length Thanks for the reply, I appreciated what you're saying, but that sort of counters the streamlining of working with folder redirection in this fashion, letting GP do the work for you. Do you know of a way to increase the 260 character limit?
