When a user tries to run the .exe for the MS SA Benefits Calculator they get

this error...

Executable "\\pathname\SA Calc vs5.8.2.exe" had the following unrecoverable

error:

Couldn't find library MSVCR80.dll (required by

C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\OFFICE12\MSOXMLMF.DLL)

Please ensure that it is installed.

He's the only one that is getting this error when running this .exe How can

I fix this for him?

Thank you,

Laura

Hi Laura,

Try to search fore this file and copy it to where the system wanted:

C:\Program Files\MicrosoftOffice\OFFICE12.

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?query=MSVCR80.dll&cboDiscussionGroup=en_US_91a15a1e-b269-4291-b6b4-dc2d504ce9ef%3Amicrosoft.public.windowsxp.general%3Aen%3AUS%3A%3A%3A%3A&=Go&dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.general&cat=en_US_91a15a1e-b269-4291-b6b4-dc2d504ce9ef&lang=en&cr=US&pt=&catlist=&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us

Run disk clean up and Defrag in safe mode.

RE: can't find library MSVCR80.dll

Vcredist.exe installs the latest run-time components for Visual C++

applications

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;259403

Can we get info about who create the Calc or you are trying to program a

Calac using one of the development tools/compilers like C++,C# or VBS?.

Did you copied the file MSVCR80.dll to this directory:

C:\Windows\System32

Also look in the event viewer for error messages that can shed some light

on the causer.

Open a Notepad, customize or minimize to the taskbar as you will need it

later for this step to copy the error message on it.

Open a run command and type in:

eventvwr.msc click [OK] you will get the Event viewer control Panel.

click on each of these:

Application

System

Security

Look in the right Pane/window for error message with red (X) or Yellow

exclamation mark /!\ , double click each one to get more info about the

causer.

On the Event error properties message you will see:

Up Arrow

Down arrow

Two pages

Click on the two pages to copy the error message then bring up the Notepad

you opened earlier and right click on the first line and select Paste from

the list, this will paste the error message on a Notepad.

Please don't duplicate the error message one of each kind will be sufficient.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
