So we renewed out wildcard cert with the proper external entity for our domain, as it was expiring today. The guy who knows how certs work is on vacation as of today so now it's my problem and I don't understand them very well.

He missed 1 server that serves up some sort of reports for our CRM. So we exported the cert as a PFX file from our web server, with private key, double checked it had the right expiration date, and copied the file over to the reporting server, imported it with the password we chose, and it's now there. But we can't set up any bindings because the only site listed on Sites is "Default Web Site." What are the odds the software on this reporting server uses that? This is not a new server and it WAS working yesterday with apparently no sites configured.

On our web server, there are 12 sites listed, one of which matches our domain.

Instructions I found online say I need to hit "complete request" but can't that only be done on the server that started the request? Once again, I barely understand certificates. Anyway, it asks for a .CER file to complete the request and we don't have that. Re-exported the IIS version of the cert-related-files from the people we bought it from and none of those are CER files so I assume that's not right?

I certainly could set up HTTP and HTTPS bindings on the "default web site" but if that's not how it was before, how was it working? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
