No audio device is installed. Possible BIOS/UEFI issue.

Windows 11. The speaker on the task bar has a cross over it and hovering over this gives the message that "No audio device is installed". I have run Troubleshoot sound problems which tells me "Apparently, you don't have any audio devices connected. I suspect that this could be an issue resulting from changes made to BIOS/UEFI.History...1.. In an attempt to resolve an issue with the system clock I tried to perform a clean boot of Windows 11. When I restarted in safe mode (clean boot mode) I was met with this message on the login screen Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to s
