Unable to open files that were previously sync'd with OneDrive.

Documents, images and many other file types are not able to be read/opened, as their folder was previously sync'd with OneDrive. Regardless of file type, I get an "unexpected error" message. No longer have a subscription and have Gb's of photo's, home movies, docs and music going back years, that I can't open. Ideas anyone?
