Roaming Profile Directories are not deleted

We've setup our terminal servers to delete the local copy of the

user's profiles (see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/274152/en-us)

when they log off.

 

Upon logoff, all the directories and files are deleted with the

exception of:

C:\documents and settings\username\application data\microsoft\internet

explorer

 

We've also noticed this happens only when the user has 2 or more quick

launch icons in their quick launch bar (C:\documents and settings

\username\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch).

 

Has anyone else seen this? If so, did you find a fix?

The system when deleting the roaming profile, recursively deletes the

folder. If it does not have permission to delete a file, it will even take

ownership, change permission and delete it. But it is a best attempt effort

and might fail if some application locked a file, failed to take ownership,

etc.

 

Can you please provide more information about exactly what icons you have in

your quick launch?

Hi -

In the Quick Launch Bar, we usually just have the various Office

icons (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT), IE, an explorer icon and the 'show

desktop' icon.
