When trying to turn on the computer the screen goes to an error screen. If I

try to use a boot disc or diagnostic disc that came with the computer the

screen goes black and then nothing happens... ever. I thought the hard drive

could be messed up, but I dont know. Thank you in advance for any help. The

message that appears is...

Award Modular BIOS v6.00 PG

SNC302eeh - Biostar BIOS v 1.0/1213f

PROCESSOR: AMD Athalon XP 1700+

Memory: 655360k

HHD: Samsung

DVD

RW

CMOS checksum Error - defaults loaded

Press F9 to select Booting device after POST

Press F1 to continue or delete to enter setup

Although you posted your question in a Windows newsgroup,

your problem most likely related to your BIOS and not to

Windows. Press the Delete key when prompted, then look for

the menu item that lets you load the BIOS factory values.

Now press the key to save your settings (it's often F10),

then reboot the machine.

You might have to replace the motherboard battery to

fix the problem permanently.

If you need more detailed instructions, try posting in a

hardware newsgroup.
