Permission Issues

Recommended Posts

I setup a user to be a "member of" 'Sales'. I've applied a script to

automatically map the "sales" drive. The user can access the mapped with no

problems. The problem I run into is when I try to access a share drive to

setup our database, it is saying he doesn't have permission. He is a domain

user and should have access to it.

Any idea of what it can be? Is there an event log I should be checking for?

I've tried deleting the user and re-adding them but that didn't work. Would

a simple reboot of the server help?

Thanks,

Re: Permission Issues

Use the effective permissions tab of the security properties of the folder

to find out what permissions they actually have. Remember by default child

objects inherit the permissions from their parents unless otherwise stated.

You may find there is a deny permission somewhere. Also check they are a

member of the correct groups. If one group has a deny and the rest are set

to allow the deny will over write all allow permissions.
