I have lost the use of the left click button on the touchpad of my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop running XP home. If anyone has a cheap remedy to this problem as I am out of guarantee it would be much appreciated.

An alternative to using the left click botton is to go to Control Panels / Mouse and setting the machine as if you were a left-handed user. Then the right mouse button becomes the left click.

To use right click, I think you hold the Control or Alt button while 'left' clicking. Or maybe it's using the Windows key. I'm not sure and can't check because I'm not on a Windows machine at this time.

Of course you can use an external mouse.
