System is as follows MB MSI MS 6380 E Windows XP Home---NTFS sp2 HD 120 GB Mem 768 +- play back using either Windows player or Fusion soft--Both exhibit the same problem Started with a Sony DRU-800A drive--Installed a new Sony DRU-840A drive --same problem I have a second desktop identical to this one and the disks play without problems--Also 2 laptops play any disk without hesitation. Really at a loss and would appreciate any advice one or more can offer--Many thanks --Mel

Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 RE: playing video DVD playback with movies in xp require DVD playback encoding software along with WMP.The software is 3rd party,(power DVD,or similiar),although ATI video cards include such software..Go to microsoft WMP home,audio/video, locate the venders..
