Have a problem with playing movies on my DVD drive--Plays to 7.5 Min and the

picture remains stationary but audio continues to run through the rest of

the disk without hesitation.

System is as follows

MB MSI MS 6380 E

Windows XP Home---NTFS sp2

HD 120 GB

Mem 768 +-

play back using either Windows player or Fusion soft--Both exhibit the same

problem

Started with a Sony DRU-800A drive--Installed a new Sony DRU-840A

drive --same problem

I have a second desktop identical to this one and the disks play without

problems--Also 2 laptops play any disk without hesitation.

Really at a loss and would appreciate any advice one or more can offer--Many

thanks --Mel

RE: playing video

DVD playback with movies in xp require DVD playback encoding software

along with WMP.The software is 3rd party,(power DVD,or similiar),although

ATI video cards include such software..Go to microsoft WMP home,audio/video,

locate the venders..
