Powerpoint 2000 Org Charts in Terminal Server Session

I am having great difficulty in getting two users to be able to open up the

org charts simultaneously in Powerpoint2000 during a terminal server session.

I continually get the error "Unable to load MS Organization Chart, Press F1

for Help", when the second user attempts to open an org chart.

 

Office was installed properly on terminal using the resource tool and .mst

transform file and is running on Server 2003.

 

This is apparently a known issue anyway with respect to Powerpoint 2000 but

not necessarily involving terminal server. There is a related knowledge base

article KB218571 that suggests a work around which I have tried to no avail.

The key seems to be the two .232 files mentioned in the above article and a

Windows folder being created in the user's terminal server profile on the

server. However, no matter what I do, there is no window's folder created in

the user's profile.

 

There is a windows folder created if I log on to the server using my domain

admin account. To that end I have tried giving my test user accounts domain

admin rights, I have tried logging them on both through remote desktop as

well as on the actual server itself but nothing has worked. I have also

tried doing (as an admin) a change user /install, then opening up the org

chart in Powerpoint, then changing back to change user /execute.

 

Due to the fact I have already aged about 20 years trying to sort this out,

I would be eternally grateful to anyone who might be able to shed some light.

Are you using local profile or TS profile

If it is a local profile, the problem will occur even if the user logs on

locally and tries to open the org chart. In that case it might not be a

problem specific to TS.

 

Did you try creating the folder manualy and giving permission as specified

in the KB (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/218571)? See if that works.

 

Since this is specific to Powerpoint, you will have a better chance of

getting a resolution if you forward your question to

microsoft.public.powerpoint.

Firstly, thanks very kindly for the assistance. I think at the end of the

day we have just about decided to go with Office 2003 as this issue works

without a hitch in 2003. Still, I would be interested to know if a solution

does exist in Office 2000.

I did try this but it didn't work.
