Guest Ben Bowen Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Hi all. I've got an IBM Lenovo laptop. The silly thing beeps every time I hit some incorrect key combination. It usually happens when I type too fast and mash several different keys at once. I hate that stupid beep. I can't find where it's configured in the Control Panel - > Sounds and Audio Devices. It sounds like something that would have used an old PC speaker. Any idea how to turn this bloody thing off? Thanks.
Guest Dee Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Re: "Alarm" beep when incorrect key combo pressed. Hi Ben.... See if your sticky key function is on or off: Hold down your shift key for 8 seconds and you will hear a beep, followed by a box that says Filter Keys. Click Settings. On the Keyboard, Sound, Display, and Mouse Tabs, uncheck everything there. On the General Tab, only tick these two areas: "Give Warning Message When Turning A Feature On" and "Make A sound when Turning A Feature On Or Off" Click apply and OK. That hopefully will solve your problem. In just resting an elbow or whatnot, I found several years ago that this feature can be a bother. Post back. Take Care... Dee Ben Bowen wrote: >Hi all.
