"Alarm" beep when incorrect key combo pressed.

Hi all. I've got an IBM Lenovo laptop. The silly thing beeps every

time I hit some incorrect key combination. It usually happens when I

type too fast and mash several different keys at once. I hate that

stupid beep. I can't find where it's configured in the Control Panel -

used an old PC speaker.

Any idea how to turn this bloody thing off?

Thanks.

Hi Ben....

See if your sticky key function is on or off:

Hold down your shift key for 8 seconds and you will hear a beep,

followed by a box that says Filter Keys.

Click Settings.

On the Keyboard, Sound, Display, and Mouse Tabs, uncheck everything there.

On the General Tab, only tick these two areas:

"Give Warning Message When Turning A Feature On"

and

"Make A sound when Turning A Feature On Or Off"

Click apply and OK.

That hopefully will solve your problem. In just resting an elbow or

whatnot, I found several years ago that this feature can be a bother.

Post back.
