Guest Lewis Higgins Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Hi all, I have a customer who has installed a new series of Terminal server cals on his windows 2003 box, but when a user connects to it, the only licences issued are termporary device cals and not user cals as they are supposed to be. Any idea what's gone wrong? I'm stumped. any help you could give me would be gratefully received. Lewis

Hi: If your terminal server license serve is intalled, activated and with your CALs installed, take a look to this KB: How to override the license server discovery process in Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279561/EN-US/ Let us know how it goes -- Un saludo Juan Perez "Lewis Higgins" <lewis.b.higgins@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1189519825.826505.144250@50g2000hsm.googlegroups.com... > Hi all, > > I have a customer who has installed a new series of Terminal server > cals on his windows 2003 box, but when a user connects to it, the only > licences issued are termporary device cals and not user cals as they > are supposed to be. Guest Lewis Higgins Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Re: Terminal services. Hi Juan Thanks for that but I'm not convinced that's it - it actually says the licenses are invalid - per device ones are issued at the moment, and these new licenses are per user. Any ideas? Thanks Lewis
Guest Juan Perez Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Re: Terminal services. Hi: So you mean that you have per user ans and per device installed. Take a look to this one: Quick Fixes for Terminal Server Licensing http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/c444e5d9-064c-4ca3-8123-74861d80719f1033.mspx?mfr=true In order to support both per user and per device tokens, the TS server must be in per user mode.
