My headset mic is extremely low on my laptop but works perfectly fine on other devices. How do I fix it?

Hi, I've encountered some problems on my computer. When I plug in my headphones, their audio is perfectly fine, however the mic barely works and is extremely low, so low that for some applications the audio isn't picked up. I've checked the device properties, tried using the decibel boost feature, made sure it was the correct microphone, and restarted plenty of times. I installed generic device driver that was compatible, and that didn't fix it. The microphone works perfectly fine on my brother's chromebook, macbook, as well as my phone and ipad. Testing the microphone, it didn't pick up anyth
