Reset/recover password on Toshiba Windows 7 laptop?

I have a really old laptop with windows 7 still on it, I've forgotten the passwords to it and I also don't have a password recovery disk or what one is. I have been going down a rabbit hole tryna figure out a way to get into the laptop and the the Microsoft support is not great.Is there a way to get in without completely erasing everything? If needs be as a last resort?
