Guest tech Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I recently did a reinstall of a dell XPhome desktop. All went well except for the RealTek HD5136 sound driver. RealTek's tech support says that the OS is missing some files. Is their an option on an XPHome OS disc to repair? What is the best way to use such an option?
Guest Rich Barry Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Re: XP Home repair Since it's a Dell, there may be a Software CD that came with the computer or something you can download from Dell's website. If so then downloading and installing that should resolve any "missing file" issues. Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C. What is the best way to use such an option? Look on the back of the system for the Service Tag, then take that number to the Dell Support site. You will find all the system drivers that originally came with your system for download. Do use the service tag, it will get you directly to the correct files for your system. HTH -pk
