Guest Christopher Haydon Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Hi I am looking at the best way of achieving this. I have read the ubiqutious KB on Moving Certification Authority but am a little confused, do you have to move it to a server with the same name? I basically have 2 servers, lets call them ISP-02 and LOCATION-2003 Currently our CA is on ISP-02 at our ISP in there managed hosting on our VPN network, we want to remove this server ultimately and move the CA role onto LOCATION-2003 that is in one of our offices. What is the best option, reading the KB on moving CA's but this can't understand if you have to restore onto a server with the same name which I can't do. Alternatively can I just turn the uninstall the CA and build a new CA on the desired server and what would the consqiesnces be, we only have a couple of webserver certificates and a a bunch of EFS certs and a few DC certs. I ideally don't want the turn ISP-02 off yet, just move the CA role in preperation for when the time comes. TIA Regards Chris
