How can I reset my laptop when the USB fails?

My daughter's laptop (HP 15-ac143wm) had gotten to the point that it needed to be factory reset. I used the onboard tools to create a recovery drive on a USB (32GB USB drive)(Windows 10) and then attempted to factory reset the system using that restore drive. The recovery tool makes it 92%, and I am then presented with a message that the reset failed. There is no reason given. When I power down, remove the USB drive, power up the system and press F11 I am told that there is no bootable device detected. At this point I have a useless laptop. Any help wouild be appreciated.
