Curious about what might happen if you try to delete Microsoft Edge from its file location? When you open the file location for Edge, it directs you to a folder containing a few subfolders and a mysterious 4MB file labeled MS Edge. Even if you manage to get the necessary admin privileges to delete these files, you might quickly find out that it doesn’t actually remove the browser. But just for fun, what if you went ahead and gave it a shot? Would deleting those files actually do anything, or would Edge simply reappear like nothing ever happened? Let’s find out! 🤔💥

It will reappear on next reboot. While you can remove it remnants remain so you can easily install it again. It's sort of what iOS does with apps you uninstall.

If you are using Windows, I do not think Edge will go away for ever. I don't remember installing app for Copilot but it is there.

It's kind of lame that Microsoft prevents you from uninstalling Edge. Then again, I suppose you could just pretend it doesn't exist and just set another browser to your default one. Still I think it's just another thing people don't like about Windows. Surely if the user doesn't want to use Edge and not have it take up space, they should be able to delete it.

I don't use Windows except for my servers. I do have Edge installed on my Mac. I like some of the features of it. It's not my default. Chrome is.
