Hello folks

I have a siemens scalleo 600 recently it totaly crashed all power is on still , so i unplugged cleaned everything checked all connections and tried to restart and it did for 10 mins or so , then same thing , now i can try for an hour and all that happens is power comes on, fans on, motherboard light on but no boot up , that was yesterday , now today it booted up and worked fine for hours then suddenly it crashed , i'm at my witts end with this , any help would be great Thanks

Welcome to FPCH

 

This sounds like the PSU is on it's way out, have you tried disconnecting the hdd and booting.

 

You will obviously receive a "Disk not found error" but if it stays on then it will be the hdd.

 

I'm more of a mind to suspect the psu though.

Thanks for help Wolfey, i have disconnected hhd and pc is staying on , booted up only as far as second screen , pci listing device , i will get my hands on a hdd and try that , i'll post results when done.

How old is the PC - may need a new CMOS battery, the battery could be sapped and not holding the BIOS setting resulting in a crash. And could explain the issue of random timings of crashes
