Oh dear - another coolermaster product

 

I would look at someone like Corsair or Seasonic for the PSU - as they are extremely efficient and they WILL provide the power that they state they will - unlike some other products :rolleyes:

What's the difference between this HD 4850 and the other one you showed me on DinoPC?

 

And this is a "new" screen I saw on Scan, is it any good?

There is no real difference! that cooler may be noisy though :(

 

as for the PSU's Hiper 530W HPU-4M530 SLi Certified ATX 2.2 PSU

and as for the monitor - it doesn't have DVI - just the VGA

Okay will I'll go for the 530W PSU and the only reasonw hy I asked about the GPU is because I cant find another on either scan or ebuyer for the same price as the one you found me from Dino PC, just trying to keep my P&P down as you suggested :P

 

and the same with that monitor, the oen I was going to have is from MicroDirect, any chance you could point out a GPU and monitor from either Scan.co.uk or Ebuyer.com for me? :P

Well - as you suggested you could get this Scan Computers UK: 512MB Palit HD4850, PCI-E 2.0(x16), 1986MHz GDDR3, GPU 625MHz, 800 Cores, 2x DL DVI-I/ HDTV, HDCP

 

but im afraid as for the monitors - Scan do not do any cheap ones that have a DVI interface - you may have to bite the bullet so to speak in getting this from another etailer

I'm guessing the dual expansion card GPU will be fine in my case? xD if so I'll get that, and as for the Monitor, the one you showed me, is out of stock and they told me they dont know when it will be back in stock =/ grr!

 

so now im Monitor-less XD Damn things :(

The dual one should fit in - the cards are about 1 foot long :eek:

Lol - typical - have a search amongst the likes of Dabs and Ebuyer and there may be one in stock there.

If you get stuck when you are doing the build then you know where we are.

 

Also bear in mind that while the MOBO is out of the case - this is the BEST and only time to route wires behind the MOBO where possible to maximise airflow, my sig shows some pics of this ;)

Oh yeah, Should I stick to Vista or XP for this build?

Go with Vista - as it recognises all the hardware right away - no need to mess about with drivers for the SATA's etc - and the fact that its a newer OS and has many more features than XP -

I do have faith in you - BUT things can happen that we cannot control :(

And don't forget that the Microsoft support for XP is getting closer to ending. Just another reason for going with the latest OS.

I know that there is some serious debate about this but in my honest opinion Vista is the most stable OS I have used.

If you buy OEM - you dont get support anyway - but for the cost of retail vs OEM - there is no question in my eyes - and as for support - who needs it when there is a site like this that can help :D

Ooo good news, apparently my friend is able to get my setup for around £200 cheaper! :O!

 

But knowing him there are some conditions, such as he builds it, or even that I change some of the parts to... "alternative" ones... =/ that he believes are better LOL

 

I'll get the spec from him and ask you guys if he wants anything changed xD see if he really DOES know what he's talking about :)
